Eligibility/Description
RFF-CMCC European Institute on Economics and the Environment is currently encouraging applications for a Post Doc researcher position in the following macro-area of research:
- Macro-financial systems and the low-carbon transition (ref. 9738):
Duties will be carried out in Milan (Italy) in the heart of the vibrant design district. The selected candidate will interact with researchers of different research background and nationalities. She/he will focus on writing top quality scientific papers, will be engaged in a global network and will have the chance to attend major conferences.
The successful applicant will be working within the ERC Starting Grant SMOOTH, “Sustainable finance for a smooth low-carbon transition”. The aim of the project is to analyse the multiple links between financial systems and the transition to a decarbonised society, providing insights on: i) the drivers of potential instability along the transition process (e.g. misaligned ‘sentiments’ of financial investors); and ii) the policies to achieve a rapid and smooth low-carbon transition (with a focus on the role of central banks and financial supervisors). The candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team with backgrounds in macroeconomic and transition modelling, political economy and behavioural finance. The ideal candidate holds (or is close to completing) a PhD in economics, finance, statistics, or related disciplines. Proficiency in at least one programming language used for macroeconomic modelling (e.g. R, Matlab) is required. Experience with the study of financial expectations and ‘animal spirits’ dynamics will constitute an asset. An excellent command of written and spoken English is essential for the position.Deadline
