Knowledge fuels change - Support energypedia!
For over 10 years, energypedia has been connecting energy experts around the world — helping them share knowledge, learn from each other, and accelerate the global energy transition.
Today, we ask for your support to keep this platform free and accessible to all.
Even a small contribution makes a big difference! If just 10–20% of our 60,000+ monthly visitors donated the equivalent of a cup of coffee — €5 — Energypedia would be fully funded for a whole year.
Is the knowledge you’ve gained through Energypedia this year worth €5 or more?
Your donation keeps the platform running, helps us create new knowledge products, and contributes directly to achieving SDG 7.
Thank you for your support, your donation, big or small, truly matters!
Ecoligo
Ecoligo
ecoligo is a crowdinvesting platform that raises finance for solar projects in emerging markets.
In developing countries, local businesses are faced with rising costs of energy as well as unstable power supply. Additionally, their energy is typically provided by diesel generators or the national grid, both of which burn fossil fuels that damage the environment and contribute to climate change.
Clean power solutions, such as solar photovoltaic, are both technically and financially viable. However, a lack of available finance prevents these solutions from being implemented. By offering the crowd the opportunity to invest in solar projects, ecoligo closes this funding gap, paving the way for businesses to use clean energy and lower their energy costs.
Upon financing by the crowd, projects are implemented by ecoligo’s trusted partners. ecoligo finances business models such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) or leasing/rent-to-own structures that allow the energy offtakers to get access to solar energy without needing to provide finance upfront. These agreements enable ecoligo’s customers to repay the borrowed capital while saving up to 40% on their electricity bills, in comparison to energy provided by the grid. Consequently, their businesses can grow, which supports the local economy. Moreover, by using clean energy, CO2 emissions are greatly reduced.
In addition to the economic and environmental benefits of their investments, ecoligo’s crowdinvestors can expect attractive capital returns.
