Project description
The project promotes the transfer of technology and expertise for reducing greenhouse gas emissions at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the agricultural and food sectors in Chile. It works closely with the Chilean energy efficiency agency (AChEE) to foster the use of energy efficiency measures along the value chain in the future. This includes managing and disseminating relevant information to AChEE experts via specialised events, training courses and business trips, for example on energy efficient technologies or the measurement and verification of emission reductions. The German-Chilean Chamber of Commerce and Industry and AChEE are also working together on developing an energy strategy for the sector and are supporting the implementation of reduction measures. These activities help the project reduce the considerable greenhouse gas emissions from SMEs in the agricultural and food sector, while promoting the development of a key sector of the Chilean economy.
