To expand reliance of off-grid electricity supply in rural areas, GTZ intends to create a EUR 500,000 micro-hydro debt fund (MHDF) for the purpose of extending credit on 7-10 year terms, for up to 40% of the project cost of AEPC-supported, off-grid, micro hydropower stations (MHPS) which are part of either the REDP or MGSP/ESAP initiatives of the AEPC.
