Knowledge fuels change - Support energypedia!
For over 10 years, energypedia has been connecting energy experts around the world — helping them share knowledge, learn from each other, and accelerate the global energy transition.
Today, we ask for your support to keep this platform free and accessible to all. Even a small contribution makes a big difference! If just 10–20% of our 60,000+ monthly visitors donated the equivalent of a cup of coffee — €5 — Energypedia would be fully funded for a whole year.
Is the knowledge you’ve gained through Energypedia this year worth €5 or more?
Your donation keeps the platform running, helps us create new knowledge products, and contributes directly to achieving SDG 7.

Bioenergy for Agricultural Production

Overview

Rapid increase in volume and types of waste agricultural biomass, as a result of intensive agriculture in the wake of population growth and improved living standards, is becoming a burgeoning problem as rotten waste agricultural biomass emits methane and leachate, and open burning by the farmers to clear the lands generate CO2 and other local pollutants.[1] Hence improper management of waste agricultural biomass is contributing towards climate change, water and soil contamination, and local air pollution. Furthermore, this waste is of high value with respect to material and energy recovery.[1]

Converting Waste Agricultural Biomass into a Resource

This document "Management/WasteAgriculturalBiomassEST_Compendium.pdf Converting Waste Agricultural Biomass into a Resource" by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) provides an overview of technologies for converting waste agricultural biomass into energy source.
