Abstract
Lack of reliable power supply forces mobile network operators in developing countries to spend around USD 3.8 billion dollars annually on diesel fuel. Similarly, for consumers in rural areas, charging their smartphones is costly and time-consuming. Partnerships between mobile network operators and energy companies can help to drive internet access and electrification for billions of people.
