Energypedia also offers the possibility to include formulas in an article, however this is a bit more difficult to do.

1. Choose the "wiki text editor"

Show Wiki Text Editor.JPG

2. Click on "Mathematical formula (LaTeX)"

The Wikitext code for an example formula looks like this:

 <math>
 \operatorname{erfc}(x) =
 \frac{2}{\sqrt{\pi}} \int_x^{\infty} e^{-t^2}\,dt =
 \frac{e^{-x^2}}{x\sqrt{\pi}}\sum_{n=0}^\infty (-1)^n \frac{(2n)!}{n!(2x)^{2n}}
 </math>

Which results in a formula like this:

[[File:]]

What you see is:

  • The overall formula needs to be enclosed by [[File:]] tags.
  • The formular itself is written in (rather complicated to understand for first-time users) LaTeX code
