No official information regarding fuel pricing could be found. However, several internet articles (see App. A1, A2) state, that the government regulates prices for liquid fuels.
Fuel subsidies are planned to be aborted, following a contract the government signed with the IMF in 2009. There were pump price increases in 2010, that presumably were the result of lowering the subsidies.
Distribution and retailing of fuels is done by the state-owned „Sierra Leone National Petroleum Company Ltd.“ and other private dealers and retailer companies.

Several internet articles (see App. A1 and A2) state, that there were fuel subsidies in 2010. In 2009, the government signed a contract with IMF to reduce and finally abort subsidizing fuels. It is unclear, if fuels are still subsidized and, if so, to what extent (as of April 2011).
