|Job description=Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Senior Programme Officer in the Remap team, the Programme Officer will:

Lead development and implementation of bioenergy projects.
Conduct assessments of bioenergy resource potential in different countries and regions.
Evaluate the economic merits, market potential and resource basis of different bioenergy technologies, including technologies for cooking, heating and cooling of buildings, industrial process heat, power and transport fuel.
Process and write information collected in the course of assisting countries upon request to develop bioenergy scale up strategies.
Organise workshops; liaise with external experts and organizations; and coordinate of peer review of bioenergy studies.
Prepare reports and brochures for publication, prepare the communication plan and ensure such are disseminated through relevant outlets including social media.
Assist in mobilising and managing Voluntary Contributions.
Prepare summaries, information sheets, and PowerPoint presentations, and interact with relevant stakeholders as required.
Perform other tasks to assist the bioenergy team and the IRENA Secretariat in the completion of the work programme as required, including some related administrative tasks.
