The GET.invest Finance Catalyst links projects and companies to financiers. It targets small- and medium-scale sustainable energy opportunities in sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific region. Our team provides advisory support in the areas of investment strategy, business case structuring, and accessing finance. We work through independent experts with extensive experience in both developing and getting projects funded.

Unlocking financing

Many of these projects and companies are challenging for financiers to engage in due to their relatively small investment size or new types of technologies and business models. Developers may lack the experience, networks or time to identify appropriate sources of finance, resulting in high transaction costs and few projects reaching financial close.

Through the Finance Catalyst, projects and businesses with strong underlying fundamentals can be supported to access debt and equity, possibly combined with grants, aiming to reach financial close.

Ensuring quality and efficiency through partnerships

To ensure the most competent, targeted and needs-based assistance possible, we work closely with other advisory and support programmes. Especially in the innovative and new topics of power-to-X, hydrogen and e-mobility, we draw on the expertise of the International PtX Hub and the Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI).

Broad range of business models and market segments

We assist private-sector driven projects and companies. Our support covers the entire spectrum of decentralised clean energy business models. The team has a proven track-record in supporting wind, solar, hybrid, hydro, biomass and biogas projects, as well as clean cooking companies, productive use, battery storage and e-mobility.
