 The project built the capacity of the local community to construct, maintain and repair a micro hydropower system. It also established their capacity to manage and operate a power scheme.  This project sought to remove the policy, technical and institutional barriers that limited the development and use of renewable energy sources to meet the energy needs of poor, off-grid communities.
